I want to get my bf a christmas gift..help?

we will be going out for 9 months right before christmas.. i was looking at a bracelet for him and i was going to inscribe something in it like our date but how should i write it and also its from tiffany and it only lets u write 3 letters on it.. would i be able to bring the bracelet to another jeweler and have them inscribe it?
