Period question?

My husband and I are TTC this is my first month on clomid, I took and early pregnancy test five days before my period was due, it came out neg. I usualy get my period exactly the same time each month, this month it was one day late (I know its not a big deal) but its not like any period I have ever had. Its thick and brown and spotty. What could this mean? Should I see a Doctor?
